Cowes Week news – Extreme 40 Sailing ! Now into it’s fourth year in a row, the UK leg of the Extreme Sailing Series is wowing everyone over six days of long distant races around the Solent, with the kind of muscular racing energy that these incredible high performance catamarans are capable of displaying.

Cowes Week and the first day’s racing of 2010 begins! No finer start could there be than last Sunday, with the Panerai British Classic Yacht Club Regatta, now in its ninth year, bringing together 52 of some of the most beautiful vintage sailing craft and their crews for a full week of racing!

Well, it’s that time of year rapidly approaching again – Cowes Week, at the end of this month. It’s a busy time on the Solent as the Westward Cup was being hotly contested during the past week.

Intriguing results at the SuperYachts Awards earlier this month. Really heart-warming, for example, to see ‘Riela’, one of the worthy winners in the 45 m plus class. While the SuperYachts and Mega Yachts tend to naturally hog all the admiring glances, it’s important, I feel, that the stock yachts should not be forgotten.
