Cannes We Do It – It Floats My Boat!
Sep 3, 2010Melacina Clarinda
Some of the biggest names in superyachts from around the world will be at Cannes next week - just look at these - Azimut Benetti, Baglietto, Beneteau, Cantieri di Pisa, Ferretti Group, Jeanneau, Peri Yachts, Pershing, Princess, Riva, Rodriguez Group, Sanlorenzo, Sunseeker, Heesen Yachts …
And we’re promised that 95 per cent will be on the water. That’s over 500 boats, of which 180 are new custom to superyachts, up to 100 foot at least!
All sorts of techie things of course, like Solar panels, LED lighting and “Bateau Bleu” hybrid engines, but the news that really has to float my boat ( ha!) is the presence of two fantastic superyachts – the brand new 150 foot ‘Mystic’, the largest composite yacht to be built in Turkey, exhibited for the first time and worldwide premiere of the Sunreef 102 Double Deck IPHARRA catamaran.
Boasting a most elegant profile, IPHAARA is one of Dream Marines’ latest portfolio additions and is not only the first double deck sailing catamaran in the world, she is also the second biggest sloop rigged catamaran, accommodating up to 12 guests and 4/5 crew. As we speak, she is exclusively available for chartering the Caribbean this winter, but not before showing off her unique styling once more at the Monaco show the following week!
Dream Marine is represented again by the 70ft Sunreef Power, Damrak, an 8 berth, 4 cabin catamaran - and with ondeck jacuzzi, just perfect for her regular winter cruising around the Caribbean.
Talking of which, I must give Captain Magic a call and see what Seaforce One is doing ...
