Marmaris Regatta Med Season Climax.

We’re awash with boat shows over the coming months but we should also, not miss the Marmaris International Yacht Club (MIYC), which has just given notice on its 21st Race Week, being held 23-29 October.

With so many yacht shows jostling for attention now, its promising to be a busy season ahead and I am determined not to miss some of the terrific sailing races still going on around our own coastline, such as the Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland race!

However, Marmaris, is always a great opportunity, of course, for 140 bareboats between 7m (22.75 ft) – 27m (87.75 ft), to enter the Regatta in the IRC and IRC Charter classes. There are five different cup races, over two Coastal courses and three Windward-Leeward courses, around the inner and outer Marmaris harbour.

The South West corner of Turkey is a classic charter destination for bareboat, skippered and flotilla craft to finish the Med cruising season, just as the Caribbean season is getting underway.

The superb 82ft ft Ravenous, an Elite range 6 berth Oyster Yacht, or the equally magnificent, nearly identical Matelot ( 86 ft), would be ideal for either a last minute dash to the waters of the Med or planning something more leisurely around the Caribbean islands, pursuing the sun as she retreats to southern latitudes.
