Cannes Boat Show Fever!
Aug 16, 2010Melacina Clarinda
Three weeks time I’ll be in triple heaven! Vieux Port, Espace Riviera and Port Pierre Canto, to be precise – the venues for the 33rd Cannes International Yacht and Boat Show, Sep 8th-13th.
Already, 2010 promises to be totally mega! Over 500 boats in water, of which 180 are new models, 180 custom to superyachts, i.e. over 65 foot to100 foot and longer!
Adding to those great French, Italian, English, Spanish and German boatbuilders, such as Cantieri di Pisa, Jeaneau, Princess, Rodriguez, Heesen and of course the utterly sublime Sunseeker, new exhibitors come from the United States, Russia, the Arab Emirates, Asia and Turkey!
I hear there’s solar panels, LED lighting and those fabulously labelled “Bateau Bleu” – environmentally friendly boats with hybrid engines! Can’t wait to see the new “Luxury Tenders” category with high-end models on display in a “Showcase all their own”, and apparently a “Performance” area, dedicated to speedboats!
I am convinced Koko would be ideal! An Elite 72 foot Sunseeker motor yacht, with 2 crew, 6 berth – furnished in my favourite, white leather and plumped up cushions! Although I am tempted to fly the flag in France, in the 76 foot Aspire Of London. Both of these sauve sophisticats would play supérieur boule alongside Cannes gallic charmers !
