DrumBeat - Super Yacht Dream Boat World Cruise!
Jul 1, 2010Melacina Clarinda :
Recovering from Valencia Grand Prix 2010! What with Lewis Hamilton stopping to take calls on his mobile right in front of ‘Indian Empress’ - Force India owner, Vijay Mallya’s 300 foot plus monster megayacht- which dominated the harbour again this year, and returning to London to the same 30 degrees of heat as when I left Valencia, just had to lie down in a darkened room, for a few moments mind!
A darkened cabin actually! And what a cabin – with a king sized bed, fitted with cream coloured linen, cotton and chenille. Dream Marine’s newest portfolio addition, the 53 m DrumBeat, is a total dream of a super yacht, boasting four magnificent pristine white sails.
Less than ten years old, she underwent a major interior re-styling in 2007/2008, so you can now simply wander through its entire one-level layout, all gentle, neutral tones and casual elegance, from cockpit through the cream furnished saloon and dining area to the forward wheelhouse. So made for ease of entertaining - up to 11 guests, in fact.
I was lucky to catch a moment on her deck. Between now and through 2011, she will be making her way around the world, from the Solomon Islands, Indonesia, the Maldives, South Africa, Brazil and finally cruising into the Mediterranean.
It’s just finding the time to join up with her again, what with Marmaris in October, Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in November, America’s Cup in February ....
